Why Trim driveways need specific treatment

Trim's housing splits cleanly in two, and each half greens up differently — which is why the surface in front of us decides the method, not the postcode.

The heritage core. The Georgian and 19th-century stock around Castle St, Market St and High St sits under a protective planning regime, so a lot of it has never been re-rendered — the original pebbledash has weathered for 60-plus years. That older, softer finish gets a gentle softwash, never a blast.
The modern estates. Knightsbrook and Effernock are a different animal: high-end A-rated homes in modern K-Rend and silicone monocouche render, with Teaguestown Wood nearby. That render is water-repellent by design, and high pressure strips exactly the layer you want to keep — so it's softwash only.

The common thread is the River Boyne running through the town. Riverside and low-lying properties sit in constant humidity, which means moss and algae take hold faster here than on a drier site — so north-facing pitches and shaded gables on estates like Limekilnhill and the Patrick St side are usually first to go green.
